Stina Nilsson has had a tough time since she changed cross-country skiing for biathlon, and recently she was dropped from the Swedish WC squad.
But Anna Jönsson Haag believes in a future in biathlon for Stina.
– The day when it sits, then it will be perfect, says Jönsson Haag to Sportbibeln.

When Anna Jönsson The Hague was at the end of his career had Stina Nilsson quite recently emerged in the world of cross-country skiing. Since then, as you know, a lot has happened, and these days it’s biathlon that matters to Stina Nilsson.

“Very different”

The 29-year-old from Malung, if you ask Anna Haag Jönsson, came into the national team with a new way of thinking.
– Stina came in with a completely new “mindset” that was very different to what we had had and seen before, says Anna Jönsson Haag in an interview with Sportbibeln.

Stina Nilsson switched to biathlon in 2022, but she has had a tough time there. The results have not been forthcoming, and recently it became clear that she will not be allowed to go with the national team to the WC in Oberhof, which begins on February 8.
– I know that she works to ensure that every detail is one hundred percent. She leaves no details to chance at all, says Jönsson Haag.

“Will be perfect”

Anna Jönsson Haag strongly believes in Stina Nilsson in biathlon, despite the fact that success has not come for her yet.
– What I think makes Stina Nilsson unique is her attention to detail and her focus on making every detail one hundred percent. Precisely that attitude and attitude means that you can actually become incredibly, incredibly good at a sport like biathlon.

Jönsson Haag believes that it is now very much about patience for Stina Nilsson, and that this is what will determine what the future will look like.
– The day when it sits, then it will be perfect. Then you just have to see if she has the patience to give it the time it actually requires. But she has it in her, I’m sure of that.
