The cross-country skier Frida Karlsson is only 24 years old but has managed to collect a total of ten WC medals.

In the 2023/2024 season, she finished in third place with a number of Swedish colleagues who Jonna Sundling, Emma Ribom and Ebba Andersson behind. Before her at the top, she had the Swede Lynn Svahn and the American Jessica Diggins.
She is already one of the best ladies in Swedish skiing history and soon it may be time to put the skis on the shelf, at least if Karlsson himself is to be believed.

In an interview with Expressen, the cross-country skier says that she plans to quit at the age of 27. Then it will be the spring of 2027 and Frida Karlsson will have competed in the WC in Falun.
– I like having deadlines. That’s when I work best. It has always been like that, ever since I went to school, Karlsson tells the newspaper, and continues:
– It’s not enough for your own motivation. To feel that what I am doing is not forever, to make full use of it. That I will do everything I can in these three years.

However, according to her herself, nothing is decided. For Expressen, she tells that she gets restless easily and if she stops cross-country skiing, she will give herself up to something else instead. Possibly another sport.
– There is more to life. I want to do so much – even if I don’t know exactly what I want to do then, she says the newspaper.
