Then bubs can run out in the candy shelves again

Easter is around the corner, a holiday that for many means Easter eggs, sweets and other good. Because sweets are so strongly linked to Easter, demand increases significantly.

With the increased demand, there is a risk that the candy shelves may echo empty. Norwegian medium Your side Have already written about the high pressure on sweets around Easter and how there is a risk that the pickup candy will temporarily end in the Norwegian stores.

News24 Have talked to Joanna Mossberg, Communications Manager at Orkla Snacks Sweden, about sweets and if there could be a shortage of BUB’s candy just like during the fall of 2024.

In the fall of 2024, all Bub’s candy ended because demand was so high that production did not have.

– There is a huge interest and craving for BUB’s candy. Last year, BUBS had growth of almost 50 percent. Of course, it is incredibly fun, but it makes it difficult to keep the same rate as the high demand from consumers, said Joanna Mossberg To News24 then.

Under the hashtag “Swedishcandy” on Tiktok there are millions of videos where people test BUB’s sweets and other Swedish sweets and the trend has kept in itself.

Today, BUB’s factory in Jönköping produces candy at full capacity.

– Easter as a holiday is one of the weeks of the year that is eaten the most sweets and we produce too full for the shelves to be filled with bubs. We do not increase production before Easter specifically, as we already produce in full capacity in our candy factory in Jönköping, Joanna Mossberg tells News24.

But BUBS, together with their customers, will make sure to deliver extra candy for Easter week so that it will not be BUBS deficiency.

But since the demand for BUB’s sweets is so high, there may be a shortage of certain individual varieties in some stores.

– However, the demand for BUBS is extremely high, so it may be that individual varieties are missing in individual stores, says Joanna Mossberg to News24.
