Theater makers compete with poppulistic puppets

The theater makers of this Utrecht company almost always work with social themes. They think that’s important and now certainly. Artistic director Monique Corvers explains: “We thought this was an ideal performance to play with puppets. You can manipulate a puppet like that anyway, you manipulate it and it will do exactly what you want. It’s the same with populism. Anyone can just say something, spread fake news, before you know it it goes from bad to worse. We wanted the children to feel that”.
