We have known since 2019 that an Alien series is in development. Five years later, the first moving images have been released that give us an insight into the project. It is only a 15-second teaserbut it perfectly sums up the premise of the highly anticipated sci-fi adventure.

The deadliest creature in the universe has set its sights on a small blue planet sitting innocently in the darkness of space. In the acid-slobbering face of a metallic shiny Xenomorphs the earth is reflected. Welcome to the horrifying future vision of Alien: Earth!

In addition to the teaser, the plot of the series was also revealed. In Alien: Earth we follow a young woman named Wendy, who, with a group of soldiers, embarks on an extremely disturbing discovery makes: A mysterious spaceship has crashed on Earth. What is inside? You can probably guess.

Sydney Chandler leads the cast of Alien: Earth. She has previously only been seen in the cinema in the dark sci-fi thriller Don’t Worry Darling. Significantly more experience brings her to the series area. In Pistol she played music legend and Pretenders founder Chrissie Hynde, not to mention a supporting role in John Sugar.

Behind the camera is a absolute series expertwho has already created several celebrated adaptations: Noah Hawley. First he amazed audiences with Fargo, then with the Marvel adaptation Legion, a wacky answer to the X-Men films. His Alien series is set around 30 years before the original with Sigourney Weaver.

Sci-Fi replenishment: When does Alien: Earth start?

So far we only know that Alien: Earth sometime in 2025 should arrive. A specific date has not yet been set. In the USA, the series will be released on the streaming service Hulu. In Germany, Alien: Earth should therefore be available on Disney+. In the cinema, you can watch the latest film in the series, Alien: Romulus.
