At L’Express, we have a journalist from the society department who investigates a lot on French prisons, she is the one who told us about this data. This is Céline Delbecque. Céline, you recently worked on the Islamist radicalization of women and that’s when you noted this figure of “94”. What exactly does it correspond to?
Céline Delbecque: This is the number of women incarcerated in France for Islamist terrorism and jihadism. This is a record and therefore requires specific installations. A second radicalization treatment unit, specifically dedicated to women, has just been inaugurated at the Roanne Prison Center, in the Loire.
