The Portuguese Bobi dog died at exactly 31 years and 165 days old.
As is known, the world’s longest-lived dog, the purebred Alentejo Bobi, died last Saturday. They talk about it, among other things BBC and news agency AP.
Bob, who lived in the village of Conqueiros in western Portugal, was exactly 31 years and 165 days old. Bob’s death was announced by the veterinarian who treated him on social media.
“Although Bobi lived longer than any dog in the history of the world, his 11,478 days on earth were not enough for those who loved him,” Veterinarian Karen Becker write in the update.
The Guinness Book of Records declared Bob’s age record in February of this year. Bob’s age was confirmed from the Portuguese Pet Database maintained by the National Veterinary Association.
The previous record was from 1939, when a dog aged 29 years and five months died in Australia.
