COP16, the UN’s nature meeting, starts today in Cali, Colombia, and it is hoped that it will be a continuation of next year’s meeting, which was considered a success. The main goal of the two-week meeting is to agree on the implementation and monitoring of global nature goals.
It is the largest nature meeting ever organized. About 14,000 participants are expected for the negotiations and various side events.
The meeting will be attended by the leaders of several countries and the ministers of about a hundred countries. The Finnish delegation at the meeting is led by the Minister of Environment and Climate Kai Mykkänen (collect.).
