Alpine skiing’s number one star Mikaela Shiffrin hurt her knee badly, but she just had time to recover for the Levi World Cup.

The number one star of the alpine skiing world, USA Mikaela Shiffrin published a dramatic video on social media under Levi’s World Cup.

Shiffrin says that he had a nasty fall last week during his training in Kuusamo. The video also shows how the alpine skier is in the hospital, where his leg was examined. Shiffrin has also shared excerpts from her recent rehab.

“Unfortunately, I had a little setback last week and took quite a hit on my left knee. But I’m lucky (and very grateful) that I escaped with a plum frost but no other major damage!

Shiffrin says that since then he has calmly increased the load and has already been able to return to skiing. Shiffrin profusely praises his team and the medical staff of his home country.

– At the same time, I also want to thank the new friends we made from different clinics around Finland, for all the support, expertise and guidance.

Shiffrin reminds that falls are seen constantly in the sport, risks cannot be avoided, and his situation was not of the worst quality.

– Still… It was a small touch with reality. We are all equally strong, but at the same time fragile.

The superstar also shared his message for younger athletes struggling with their fears.

– For all young athletes struggling with fear of falling, fear of failure or fear of pain. Remind yourself that you are not alone. You certainly don’t need to be immune to fear to do amazing things in your career and life.

Mikaela Shiffrin, 28, took 14 victories in the World Cup last season. He has won a total of 88 World Cup races in his career – more than anyone else. Last March, Shiffrin was overtaken by a Swedish legend By Ingemar Stenmarkwho had 86 career wins.

Last season, Shiffrin won the overall race of the World Cup as well as the slalom and giant slalom cups.

Despite his setback, Shiffrin wrote that he is ready to race again, just under Levi’s weekend.

The women started the World Cup season in Sölden with the giant slalom at the end of October. Swiss Lara Gut-Behrami beat Italy before Federica Brignone and Slovakia Petra Vlhova. Shiffrin was sixth.
