SVT has previously reported on the huge skateboard ramp at Örebro University, which was inaugurated in May last year.
And on Saturday, it was the scene for Vertfesten 2022 – a competition organized by Örebro Skateboard. The competition attracted both young and older participants from both Sweden and abroad. Including Danish skateboard legend and treadmill specialist Nicky Guerrero.
– It has taken me five years to get here to Örebro and I have been invited many times, but this year it was time, he says.
“One of the biggest in the sport”
The 54-year-old Dane has been skating for over 40 years and belonged to the world elite during the 80s and 90s.
And his presence during the competition was something that pleased the competition management.
– It’s super fun that he and his friends want to come here to Örebro to go both here in Örebro skate park and in the trampoline. He has been a legend for many years and has been one of the greats we have in the sport, says Daniel Schön.
