Iranian Foreign Minister Hussein Emir Abdullahiyan evaluated the platform and agenda at the press conference he held after the “Regional Cooperation Platform for the Establishment of Permanent Peace and Stability in the South Caucasus” in the 3+3 format held in the capital Tehran.
“WE WILL CONTINUE TO SUPPORT”
Iran’s; Stating that he openly declared that he supports the Palestinian resistance against the Israeli occupation within the framework of religious, national and humanitarian values, and that this is not a secret, Abdullahiyan said, “We will continue to support the Palestinian resistance against the occupying Zionist regime with political, international and media power.” he said.
Abdullahiyan stated that Israel is the occupier of Palestinian lands and said, “According to international law, those whose lands are occupied can arm themselves and use weapons to defend themselves. Some Western countries, especially under the control of the USA, are trying to completely ignore the Israeli occupation. They are seeking to condemn Hamas and the Palestinian resistance.” made his assessment.
“Türkiye AND RUSSIA HAVE CLEAR STANCES”
Stating that the Palestine issue was discussed by the foreign ministers at the meeting held in Tehran, Abdullahiyan said, “Especially the foreign ministers of Turkey and Russia had strong and clear stances on stopping the attacks on Gaza, delivering humanitarian aid and not targeting civilians.” said.
TWO MESSAGES FROM THE USA TO IRAN
Abdullahiyan said that the USA and Western states have “sent dozens of messages” to Hezbollah so far to prevent a new front from being opened against Israel, and continued his speech as follows:
“The USA also sent a message to Iran twice. In the first one, they said ‘we do not want to expand the war’. In the second one, they asked Iran to show restraint. The USA claims that it does not want to expand or escalate the war, but on the other hand, with the weapons it sent two weeks ago, it sent Palestinian civilians “He has proven his support for the attacks on children and women in Gaza. I also call out to (US President Joe) Biden from here: End the hypocrisy. Is this the human rights you defended for the world during the election campaign?”
Abdullahiyan stated that the foreign ministers had the opportunity to hold consultations at the meeting held in Tehran and said, “The slogan of the summit we held is ‘It is time for peace, cooperation and development in the South Caucasus’. I hope that there will be no more bullying language in the South Caucasus after this summit. It will be held in Turkey.” “After the meeting, we want to hold these meetings in Baku and Yerevan.” he said.
STATEMENT OF ARMENIA-AZERBAIJAN
Stating that the meeting provided a platform where they hope to witness the establishment of stable peace and security in the South Caucasus as soon as possible, Abdullahiyan said, “Armenia should recognize Azerbaijan’s sovereignty over Karabakh and Azerbaijan should ensure the security and protection of Armenians living in Karabakh.” “Declaring it as a responsibility is a positive step.” he said.
Abdullahiyan noted that the geopolitical situation in the region was also discussed at the meeting in 3+3 format and said:
“In my meeting with (Azerbaijani President Ilham) Aliyev in Baku about three months ago, he said that they had no intention of changing the borders and geopolitics of the South Caucasus. In addition, regarding the transportation route of Zangezur, a corridor from Iran to Nakhchivan was established between the two countries. “It was decided to establish it. Relevant companies and specialized ministries of the two countries are working to implement this project.”
