In the statement made by the Zambian police, it was stated that a police officer named Titus Phiri, who was on duty at a police station in the capital Lusaka, released 13 suspects who were detained in a drunken state to attend the New Year’s celebrations.
HE TOOK HIS CELL KEYS BY FORCE
In the statement, it was noted that Phiri committed this action by forcibly taking the keys to the holding cells from another police officer at the police station.
DRUNK POLICE OFFICER TAKEN INTO CUSTODY
In the statement, it was stated that Phiri was detained after the incident, and that operations were continuing to capture the 13 people released by the police officer.
