After Marriage Story, which is one of the best Scarlett Johansson films, the new Noah Baumbach work comes straight back to Netflix. This time he has a novel by the bulky-absurd author Don DeLillo (Cosmopolis) caught.
About his book adaptation of White Noise, in which the Star Wars star Adam Driver plays, among others, is now the first teaser trailer appeared. You can see it in the player above.
White Noise trailer mixes apocalyptic mayhem with lots of confusion
The plot revolves around college professor Jack Gladney (Driver), who is an expert on Hitler studies. In the course of the story he gets into a fight with his fifth wife Babette (Greta Gerwig) and his four children and stepchildren apocalyptic event. The novel deals with the time before, during and after this catastrophe.
The first teaser trailer for the Netflix version of White Noise comes across as enigmatic and confused as author Don DeLillo’s typical style. His postmodern novel is heavily satirical and revolves around the themes, among other things Capitalism, consumerism and the fear of deathwhile the Gladneys’ family life descends into chaos.

Anyone who knows David Cronenberg’s Cosmopolis film adaptation with Robert Pattinson, for example, has already gotten an impression of DeLillo’s handwriting. White noise should to Netflix later this year come. Before that, the film celebrates its premiere at the Venice Film Festival.
