The world championships of the heptathlon superstar are in danger – will Saga Vanninen reach the hard achievement? These top names are certainly on the sidelines from Budapest

The world championships of the heptathlon superstar are in danger

Nafissatou Thiam, who has achieved two World Cup victories and two Olympic gold medals in the 7s, is suffering from Achilles tendon problems.

will show the World Athletics Championships on its channels from August 19 to August 27. See the program and broadcast information of the games at this link.

The World Athletics Championships in Budapest, Hungary will start in exactly two weeks. However, not all the best are there for various reasons.

At least the USA’s pole vault stars are sure to be out of the World Championships KC Lightfoot and Sam KendricksGerman spear stars Johannes Vetter and Andreas HofmannGermany’s reigning long jump world champion Malaika Mihambo and 1,500 meter surprise world champion, British Jake Wightman.

There are also athletes whose participation is still shrouded in mystery. Such a famous athlete is Belgium’s 7-match star Nafissatou Thiam.

The Belgian Athletics Federation said on Thursday that 28-year-old Thiam has not confirmed his participation in the World Championships. The woman has suffered from Achilles tendon problems this summer.

He doesn’t have a single goal-scoring match on his record this summer. In June, he tried, but had to stop.

The two-time Olympic champion in the sport is currently suffering from Achilles tendon problems. Thiam was supposed to jump the high jump at the Monaco Diamond League in July and the long jump in London, but he ended up skipping them citing injury.

Vannisen seam for point locations

Thiam, who won his first global title at the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro seven years ago, has also won two world championships in the 7 game.

He is third in the all-time statistics with his record series of 7,013. If Thiam is not seen in Budapest, the absolute favorite would have scored 6,988 points this season, beating the USA Anna Hall.

Finland also competes in the heptathlon of the World Cup Saga Vanninen. The twenty-something athlete has won the under-23 European Championship in Espoo this summer and scored Finland’s second-best score of 6,391.

If Vanninen is at his best or matches his record, he can place really high in his first World Championships. In last year’s World Championships, 6,222 points were enough.

At the Tokyo Olympics, 6,403 was enough for eighth and 6,420 for sixth. A Swedish fairy tale in the 1991 World Cup in Tokyo, the SE series is 6,404.

If Thiam were to miss the World Championships, it would also increase Vanninen’s chances of getting into the top eight.

Definitely out of the World Championships KC Lightfoot, USA, pole vault

In June, the 23-year-old American jumped his sky-high record of 607, with which he is third in the all-time outdoor track statistics. However, he was only fourth in the US championships and was left out of the World Championship team.

Sam Kendricks, USA, pole vault

The two-time world champion also did not succeed in the USA championships in the best possible way. Like Lightfoot, he remained at a height of 581. Kendricks, who bent 606 at the best, did not compete in last summer’s World Championships either.

Johannes Vetter, Germany, javelin

The world champion from six years ago did not break the result limit of 85 meters, nor did he have enough ranking points for the Games. Vetter, who suffered from bad injuries, threw a wild 97.76 arc in 2020. This summer, Vetter has competed three times and threw his best 80.82.

Andreas Hofmann Germany, javelin

Hofmann was not an eligible athlete for the World Championships. Hofmann, who set his record of 92.06 in 2018, has been able to compete once this season.

Malaika Mihambo, Germany, height

The two-time world champion is unable to participate due to injury. He has also achieved Olympic gold.

Jake Wightman, Great Britain, 1,500m

A year ago in Oregon, Wightman surprised a superstar by Jakob Ingebrigtsen. The British runner has not recovered enough from his injury last winter.

Trey Cunningham, USA, 110 m aj

Last year’s World Cup silver medalist did not pass the Yankees’ tough qualifying round.
