The word capitalism no longer appears in the Left Party’s proposal for a new party program, writes Dagens Nyheter, which compared the proposal with the previous program. There the word is mentioned 17 times.

Other words that have decreased in occurrence are different variants of socialism and socialist, from 44 to 6.

The new proposal for the party program is to be debated and adopted at V’s congress in May. But 987 motions have come in with objections.

– The problem is that the program is very vague – and that is the very idea. They do not want the party leadership’s hands to be locked. Nooshi Dadgostar should not have to answer the question: do you want the banks to be socialized or not? If there is nothing like that in the program, you don’t have to do it, says V member and history professor Kjell Östberg.
