The woman accused of murder in court: Blames her partner

At the beginning of March last year, Ako Hameed Abbas, 37, was found dismembered in a bag in Värmdö.
On Friday, the suspects were heard for the first time in court and the accused woman handed over responsibility for the high-profile murder of her partner and his little brother.

The 25-year-old woman and her partner’s 20-year-old brother were charged last week with murder and grave breach of public order. The woman’s 24-year-old partner is still on the run and internationally wanted.

The trial began on Wednesday and today the suspected woman and the 20-year-old were heard in court for the first time. In court, the woman stated that her partner and his little brother are guilty of taking Ako’s life and that she was not involved.

Was in another room

When the murder took place, the woman states that she was with the children in the bedroom, after a fight broke out in the kitchen between the roommate and Ako. According to the woman, Ako has shown a picture on his phone to the partner, and told that he and the woman had intercourse. After that, scuffles have arisen.

– I’m sitting on the bed and I’m scared. After ten minutes it will be quiet, she says during the trial.

She says that her partner then came into the bedroom. In his hand he had a machete-like knife which, according to her own statement, she had never seen before. He bled on his hand and is still upset. She states that her partner pulls her hair and threatens to kill her.

– I take the knife from him and put it on the bed. I try to calm him down, she says.

Woman: Didn’t know Ako was dead

After being locked in the bedroom for another 45 minutes, she is asked to follow her partner. She gets to drive her own car, Ako’s car. On the highway out towards Gustavsberg, the partner and his brother must have stopped and got out of the car. The woman states that she does not see what they are doing.

Together they traveled via Germany to Mexico. She says that she only then finds out that Ako is dead.

– I was shocked, I didn’t feel well at all. He got so mad at me and hit me, grabbed me by the hair. He said it was my fault, the woman says during the trial.

After that, she is said to have fled from her partner to California. Once there, she realized that she and the children would not be able to return to Sweden, after seeing clips about her and Ako on Tiktok.
