The Witcher Remake: CD Projekt Red brings the cult game back to life in Unreal Engine 5

The Witcher Remake CD Projekt Red brings the cult game

Undoubtedly one of the sagas that has most marked pop culture in the last ten years, the saga The Witcher is offered a complete remake of its first game.

It’s a major announcement that CD Projekt Red made at the end of October, presenting us with one of its biggest future projects. Once again, it’s the saga The Witcher which is at the heart of the intentions of the Polish studio which, not content with developing a future video game saga in the fantastic world of Andrzej Sapkowski’s novels, also intends to present us with a complete remake of the first game The Witcher. Originally released in 2007, this action and adventure game is being completely rebuilt by the Fool’s Theory studio, which intends to offer us the opportunity to rediscover Geralt of Rivia’s first adventure on our modern gaming platforms.

But that’s not all, Fool’s Theory imitates CD Projekt Red on a technical level, since The Witcher Remake will be entirely based on the Unreal Engine 5 graphics engine, developed by Epic Games. An impressive machine with many and ambitious promises, which the gaming world is still waiting to see in action in a modern release. However, the promise of rediscovering the first adventures of our favorite witcher in 4K and at 60 fps is a prospect that enchants us as much as it enchants fans. No mention has been made of a possible release window for the moment, nor of the platforms on which the game will be developed (our index: PC, PS5 and Xbox Series).
