CD Projekt RED shared new details about the highly anticipated The Witcher 4 that will meet the expectations of fans.
CD Projekt RED during a podcast Witcher 4He gave clues about the map size of . Game director Sebastian Kalemba and general producer Gosia Mitrega stated that The Witcher 4’s map will be “about the same size” as The Witcher 3’s map.
The Witcher 3 Quality is Targeted
The studio emphasized that the focus in The Witcher 4 is on quality rather than quantity. While it was stated that the map could be “90, 85 or 100 percent” of the size of The Witcher 3, it was announced that the missions were handled with a similar approach and that it was aimed to have as rich content as in The Witcher 3.
The Witcher 3’s map was approximately 142 square kilometers in size, including all DLCs and additional areas. Regions such as White Orchard, Velen, Novigrad, Toussaint, The Skellige Islands and Kaer Morhen were included on this map. Although it is not yet known which regions The Witcher 4 will include, some new locations are expected to be added depending on where Ciri’s journey will take her.
CD Projekt RED assures us that the game will be big and offer plenty of content for fans to enjoy. Considering the success of The Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk 2077, players have high confidence in the studio. There is also a possibility that The Witcher 4 will receive DLCs, just like the third game, and thus the size of the game will increase even more.
