The wisest motorists are sometimes the most dangerous: this cautious behavior exposes to a big fine

The wisest motorists are sometimes the most dangerous this cautious

Rolling with caution is rather well seen on the road, unlike those who drive at full speed. But this behavior represents a very real risk.

Most drivers who are reprimanded roll too quickly. Indeed, speeding, whether they take place in town, on a national or on the highway are particularly punished in France. And for good reason: going beyond the authorized speed limitations represents a real danger which causes many accidents and deaths each year. Radars are therefore not randomly placed near the roads: the objective is of course to make motorists slow down.

But beware: too much don’t need! People who want to be the most cautious are sometimes also the most dangerous driving. Indeed, by wanting to respect the recommended panels and speed, some tend to drive a little too slowly. Behavior that can also be risky for other vehicles! Indeed, a motorist was recently arrested for leaving 30 km/h on a highway in Isère. Bad luck, the police also surprised him with a phone in hand and discovered his blood alcohol level.

Be that as it may, driving too slowly is liable to a fine since the motorist in question disrupts traffic. This encourages other drivers to double, sometimes by the right, which is prohibited by the highway code. This one specifies moreover in Article R413-19 “”that no driver must interfere with the normal walking of other vehicles by circulating without reason valid at an abnormally reduced speed. In particular on the highway, when the circulation is fluid and the atmospheric conditions allow sufficient visibility and grip, the drivers using the most on the left track cannot circulate at a speed of less than 80 km/h“.

A person who does not rely enough on the accelerator pedal and who rolls too slowly, especially by positioning himself on the left lane on the highway, therefore risks a flat -fined fine of 35 euros, reduced to 22 euros for fast regulations and increased to 75 euros in the event of late payment. The fine for excess of slowness can reach 150 euros in the event of recurrence.
