Finland, who bowed out in the opening match, will face Denmark in the second match of the first group. Urheilu’s expert Maija Saari believes that Finland has a chance to score points against the early favourites.

Finland will face Denmark in the European Football Championship on Tuesday from 19:00. The broadcast starts on TV2 and Areena at 18.15. Puhe at 6:30 p.m. You can find competition games, background stories, news and highlights on ‘s competition pages.

On Tuesday, Helmarit will play their second match of the European football championships, when they will face Denmark, which has clearly favored Germany. The country was left at Germany’s feet, and ended up losing 0–4.

Finland, on the other hand, had a dream start to the tournament by Linda Sällström with a goal, but Spain eventually took the victory with goals 4–1. Finland has a big game today in terms of future dreams. If Finland loses its second match, Spain must beat Germany in the match starting at 10 p.m. Otherwise, Finland’s further dreams will be dashed even before the last preliminary group game.

We will go through the setup of the match through four questions.

Is Denmark’s defense one of Finland’s attack sites?

Despite the loss in the opening match, Denmark’s defensive game has been strong. In the World Cup qualifiers, the team has scored no less than 35 goals, but only conceded one hit. Good performances have already been rewarded with a place in the World Cup, which has been achieved by only four countries in Europe so far.

According to Saari, it cannot be assumed that Denmark would not improve its grip on Finland.

– The first game was a big disappointment and they didn’t quite get their defense to a normal level. On the other hand, Germany was persuasive, and their goodness certainly caused the fact that Denmark seemed to remain on the scaffolding, says Saari.

According to Saari, Denmark needs to make its defense group more compact. Denmark was in trouble in the opening match when they opened with a short one. Germany pushed extremely hard in these situations, and managed to strike when Denmark’s distances were not optimal.

– I would think that the picture of the game against Finland will change. If Denmark gets its own ball control to a better level than against Germany, it will also suit Finland and bring attack opportunities behind the Danish defense line.

Does Finland have a chance for points?

Saari believes that Finland definitely has a chance for points against Denmark. The pressure is intense for both, as points must be scored in order to keep the dreams of continuing alive.

– Denmark certainly suits Finland well in the sense that their grouping is probably 3-4-3 when attacking. Then there are places on the wing areas to attack when the ball is taken away, for example, in the middle area.

However, Finland needs to improve especially its special situation play. Spain scored three goals from special situations. Spain also scored three of their four goals with headers.

– I believe that Finland has watched the tapes and analyzed what kind of situations caused difficulties. On the other hand, defending your own sixteen area is a lot about determination and cooperation between the players.

How will the match be decided?

Saari believes that special situations will rise to a great position again. He expects the game to be even and with few goals, because both are aware of the importance of the game, and will go into the match through a defensive game.

– Denmark definitely wants to get their defensive game in order. Certainly, the Germany match had a little effect on self-confidence. I believe that they will also start in a very controlled manner and avoid mistakes.

The Danish team has one of the sport’s superstars, Pernilla Harder, who is the most expensive female soccer player in the sport. Harder’s move to Chelsea is reported to have cost £250,000, or around €295,600.

– He moves in a very wide area and also wants to finish himself, even though he plays below the top. He is a really versatile and intelligent player who is certainly interesting to watch and admire. For Finland’s defense, this is something that must be taken into account.

How are possible absences affected?

Before the match against Denmark, there have also been dark clouds over the Finnish team. Among the players in Finland’s starting line-up, a defender Tuija Hyyryne has a corona infection, and an attacker Adelina Engman suffers from tightness in the buttocks. However, no tear was found in the magnetic images. Finland’s head coach Anna Signeul however, confirmed on the eve of the match that Engman will not play against Denmark.

About experts Maiju Rootsalainen reminds that Hyyrynen’s and Engman’s absences would be against the Danish star Pernilla Harder.

-Harder has played on the left wing. Finland needs a good 1vs1 pack on the right wing. If there are two new players on the right wing, Finland will have a lot to do, the Swede sums up.

Hyyrysen’s possible replacements may have been located by Hyyrysen in the match against Japan that prepared for the European Championships Nora Heroum or then Emma Koivisto. If Koivisto moves to the right, the position of the left flank also moves Elli Pikkujämsä.
