The wind power plans in Tribbhult are stopped in court – the politicians had to change

The plans for a wind farm in Tribbhult have been a hot issue. Not least after the municipal politicians switched sides after several years and changed their previous yes to a no.

The wind power company Statkraft raged against the decision. The company had then spent eight years and nine million kroner on the project.

– It is extremely late, said Charlotte Andersson, environmental manager at Statkraft to SVT in November 2021.

Last year, the company won the court. But it was appealed – and now that sentence is overturned.

Had to change his mind

It is fine to change one’s mind, the Land and Environment Court of Appeal now states.

“During the processing of a permit application, the municipality is free to revoke an authorization that has been submitted earlier during the process,” writes the court.

In order to grant a permit to wind power, consent from the municipality is required – and since it no longer exists, the prerequisites for granting a permit are also missing.

The decision cannot be appealed.
