Pelosi, who participated through her lawyer in the case heard in California Napa District Court this morning, denied the charges against her. The judge adjourned the case to August 23 to examine the allegations and evidence.
Pelosi will face at least 5 days in prison and up to 5 years probation if found guilty. Prosecutors say Pelosi should also take lessons from the drunk driving class and have a device that measures her alcohol level installed in her vehicle before starting each time.
DETENTION
The 82-year-old multimillionaire, who had an accident with his Porsche on May 28 in Oakville, California, was detained for “drinking driving”.
It was also alleged that on the night of the accident, Pelosi gave a driver’s license to the cops who asked for her ID and a card showing her donations to the California Highway Patrol charity, which provides scholarships to police children.
Pelosi was later released on $5,000 bail. (AA)
