The eight-year-old gave a cross, ‘dad’ Albert Steehouder, baker in Vianen, headed it in. When the duo heard about the Vijfje, a new pastry to be invented that the municipality will often purchase afterwards, they immediately thought of a sweet pizza. “It has to meet quite a few requirements,” Albert explains. “It had to be long-lasting, taste good, and have some connection with the community. That’s why we brought honey from a village further away to use in the cake.”
