The White Worm Confused in House of the Dragon Season

It’s been two years since the first season of House of the Dragon. It’s no wonder that we haven’t remembered all of the supporting characters. But what if they suddenly play an important role again?

This is how it is at the beginning of season 2 with Mysaria aka Lady Misery aka the White Worm. The mysterious character in the series is played by actress Sonoya Mizuno, who you may also know from Devs or Civil War. Here’s a little refresher on her.

The White Worm in Season 1 of House of the Dragon: In Bed with Dragons

Mysaria is a sex worker from the far eastern Yi Ti (actually Essos in the book), who Prince Daemon Targaryen (Matt Smith) in season 1. But she is much more to him than just a paid lady of the night. She is mistress at his side when his brother, King Viserys (Paddy Considine), denies him the succession to the throne, and accompanies him as potential wife to Dragonstone. In the Targaryen history book Fire and Blood * by George RR Martin, it is said that she is pregnant by Daemon. In the series, he only invents this rumor as a provocation, which Mysaria resents. She hates being used as a pawn by others.

In the years that follow, Mysaria builds up a spy network in King’s Landing under the nickname “The White Worm” and becomes the Master of Whisperers. Very similar to Lord Varys aka The Spider from Game of Thrones. Over time, Mysaria betrays her prince and informs Otto Hightower (Rhys Ifans), among other things, about Daemon’s first night with his niece (and future wife) Rhaenyra (Milly Alcock).

When Mysaria blackmails the crown with her ambitious kidnapping of Prince Aegon, she demands that the child exploitation in Flea Hole be stopped.
