The United States is working to find a diplomatic solution on the border between Israel and Lebanon, the White House says.
The US White House has commented on the tense situation in the Middle East on Sunday.
The spokesman for the country’s National Security Council, by Adrienne Watson according to the United States blames the attacks on the Golan Heights on Saturday on the extremist organization Hezbollah, which in turn has denied its guilt.
– This attack was carried out by the Lebanese Hezbollah. It was their rocket, and it was fired from an area under their control, Watson says in a statement.
According to the White House, the United States has been in continuous negotiations with Israeli and Lebanese authorities since Saturday.
– The United States is also working to find a diplomatic solution in the area of the Blue Line, to end all attacks once and for all, and so that citizens on both sides of the border can return to their homes, the statement says.
The blue line refers to the area on the border between Israel and Lebanon.
Also the US Secretary of State Antony Blinken has commented on the matter on Sunday, saying that the United States does not want to see the conflict in the Middle East escalate.
However, Blinken said Israel has the right to defend itself and emphasized US support for the country.
