The Lek and the Amsterdam-Rhine Canal will supply the western Netherlands with more freshwater starting tomorrow. For example, salinization of the Hollandsche IJssel in particular must be counteracted. The extra water goes via the Leidsche Rijn and the transit through the Krimpenerwaard to the work area of the Rijnland Water Board.
