The western link is expected to open in a year – the Swedish Transport Administration must remedy the deficiencies

Recently, the Västra länken section between Avion and Klabböle was rejected during the final inspection. It is now clear that it will take another year before the road can be put into traffic.

– It is of course sad to have to do this as our ambition has always been to open the road as soon as possible. However, several inspections have shown that the stretch of road does not correspond to the agreed specifications. There are simply too many and too serious deficiencies and the contractor has announced that it has no intention of fixing these, says Tomas Ek in a press release.

NCC has not wanted to remedy the deficiencies discovered after the road. The Swedish Transport Administration will now fix the errors. In the protocol from the most recent inspection, it appears, among other things, that the section has significant deficiencies in terms of load capacity and a number of other points.

– We have not received the quality of the road that we have bought. Unfortunately, NCC’s actions have caused us to lose a lot of time, says Tomas Ek, project manager at the Swedish Transport Administration.
