After several days of sunshine, the weather turns. Now SMHI warns of thunder and downpours.
– We can have flooding problems, says Caroline Andersson, meteorologist.
TV4’s meteorologist Caroline Andersson says that it is difficult to know exactly where the center of gravity of the heavy downpours will come, but that the yellow warning for thunder has been issued in parts of western Götaland.
It will also bring in heavy rain showers and warnings for strong gusts of wind have been issued.
Rain at Bruce Springsteen’s concert
The warning for torrential rain also extends over the inner parts of Götaland but not so much in the southwestern parts. According to Caroline Andersson, there is a risk of flooding problems.
As the thunder and rain approaches the Gothenburg area, it may also affect world star Bruce Springsteen’s concert at Ullevi tonight.
– It looks like there may be a lot of rain and if you check how the rain moves, it looks like the forecast is pointing towards 48 millimeters where it is the most, she says and continues:
– Then, as I said, it is difficult to say exactly where the heaviest downpours will come.
Much needed rain
The forecast extends until 06:00 on Tuesday. After that, it looks like the rain will move in over Götaland and Svealand.
– It continues to move more east and not so much further north, unfortunately, says Caroline Andersson.
She points out, however, that it would have been much needed with rain also in the north.
– It looks like we have to wait a little longer for that.
