The water is rising in Ringsjön in Skåne – SMHI warns

Parts of Skåne continue to struggle against floods.
The water level in Lake Vombsjön has begun to drop and as much water no longer needs to be released from the lake.
But in Ringsjön, the water rises further.
– About 30 houses are completely water damaged and it doesn’t seem to be over, says TV4 Nyheternas reporter Mikael Nilsson.

The water level in Lake Vombsjön in Skåne has begun to drop and as much water no longer needs to be released from the lake. Thus, SMHI expects a reduced water flow in the Kävlingeån, for which a red warning has so far been issued for high flows.

– It looks better and better, says on-duty hydrologist Fredrik Schück.

The warning for high flows will probably change from red to orange during Tuesday, he believes. But he emphasizes that it will take time for all the water to recede.

Homeowners at Ringsjön, on the other hand, can count on a further rise in the water level.

— It looks like the water levels are still rising slightly. But the inflow, the amount of water coming to the lake, is greatly reduced. Presumably it will now culminate within a day or a few days.

For Almaån and Helge å in Skåne, a yellow warning has been issued for high flows, but there it looks like it has begun to stagnate.

There is also a yellow warning for Stångån in Östergötland. There, SMHI expects a fairly stable flow in the coming days.
