The water back in Unnaryd’s toilets

Last minute The world stood up after Putins decision in

On Monday, a technical fault was discovered at the water plant where too high a dose of potassium permanganate, which is used in the water purification process, was released into the pipeline network. The waterworks were closed and people were advised not to drink the water or use it for cooking, showering or washing. Ideally, the locals would not even flush the toilet as the water could run out.

But now the waterworks are running again – but only for flushing. The warning for the tap water remains, no one should drink the water until the test results are back, which could take until Wednesday, November 9, Hylte Municipality writes on its website.

The municipality warns that ingestion can cause mild stomach and intestinal problems. Late on Monday, however, it was established that low levels of the substance have been measured, and so far there is no information that anyone has started to feel ill after ingesting the water. However, local residents are encouraged to contact healthcare in the event of nausea and vomiting.

Water tanks have been placed at three different locations in Unnaryd where serviceable water can be collected. Due to the unserviceable water, the school and preschool in the village will be closed on Tuesday.
