The long wait is finally over. The alpha of The War Within is over and the beta has finally started. From now on you can dive into the latest chapter of World of Warcraft and check out the new content – at least if you have beta access. We’ll explain how to get it and how to download the client here.

How can I participate in the beta? There are two ways to take part in the beta. Firstly, you can apply for beta access in the traditional way. To do this, go to the official Blizzard website, log in with your Battle.net account and indicate that you are interested in the beta. With a bit of luck, you will then be invited to the beta in the coming weeks.
You are guaranteed access if you pre-order the more expensive “Epic Edition” of The War Within. In this case, you get direct access to the beta and can start playing immediately.
How to download The War Within beta client? It’s simple and works the same as with other WoW versions.
If you want to switch back to the retail version, you have to close the WoW client and switch the version back to the current WoW version in Battle.net.
How do I know if I’m in the beta? If you receive an invitation to the beta, you will usually be informed by email. However, you don’t have to click on any links. You can always be sure by looking at the Battle.net launcher. If you find the entry for The War Within beta there, you can take part.
