The war in Ukraine: Sergiy learns to walk in Sweden

Leksand extended the winning streak beat AIK

Many thousands of Ukrainians, both soldiers and civilians, have had arms or legs amputated after being injured by Russian artillery attacks.

IT specialist Sergiy Fedirko was nearly killed when a shell hit right next to his house in Irpin near Kyiv. Now he has received a new leg prosthesis in Stockholm.

– I am trying to return to a normal life. My goal is to learn to walk again, go home to Ukraine and try to get a job, he says.

Physiotherapist Monica Y Dale works together with Sergiy and she says that things are going unexpectedly fast.

– It’s fine. To get this far in three times is good, she says.
