Jeffrey Dean Morgan is best known to many fans as the cult villain Negan from the zombie series The Walking Dead. In the spin-off Dead City, which will soon start in Germany, he will be seen again as a purified ex-Savior. But 20 years earlier, he was already part of another huge franchise. In the sci-fi series Star Trek: Enterprise, Jeffrey Dean Morgan took over a guest role that nearly ended his career.
Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s Star Trek appearance 20 years ago was pure agony
Long before Jeffrey Dean Morgan became a The Walking Dead star, wowed in shows like Supernatural and Grey’s Anatomy and starred in blockbusters like Watchmen and Batman v Superman, his acting career took off in the early 2000s with a few cameo roles.
In 2003, he guest starred in the Star Trek series Enterprise as the reptilian Xindi villain Damron in an episode of the third season. Hardly anyone will have recognized him, however. Because Jeffrey Dean Morgan was hidden under masses of latex as an extraterrestrial creature.

Jeffrey Dean Morgan is almost unrecognizable in Enterprise
On the YouTube talk show Hot Ones, Jeffrey Dean Morgan shared the traumatic experience that made him question his career choices:
Turns out I’m claustrophobic. I found the makeup process really difficult and I had straws in my nose. I’ve never been on a set where I went home at night and I was like, “What am I doing here? I made the worst decision of my life. I never want to be an actor again.” I was sure I was doing the wrong thing and almost gave up. It was awful.
Thankfully, Jeffrey Dean Morgan didn’t give up on his career after the Star Trek disaster. Just two years later, he landed the popular Supernatural role of John Winchester. A year later he was engaged as Denny Duquette in the hospital series Grey’s Anatomy. In another Star Trek project, however, he has not been seen again to this day.
