The Wagner convoy towards Moscow is said to be turning back

The advance of the paramilitary Wagner group towards Moscow has been stopped, says leader Yevgeny Prigozhin.

“To avoid bloodshed, we withdraw our troops,” says the leader in an audio clip on Telegram, where he also claims that his soldiers are 20 miles from Moscow.

According to the Russian state news agency RIA Novosti, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko and the Wagner leader will have negotiated an agreement on Saturday.

Since the night of Saturday, the Wagner Group has occupied military bases in Rostov, Voronezh and Lipetsk.
