“The Voice” changes pace this Saturday and the regulars could be confused with the arrival of a new new stage, baptized “the groups”.
Each year since 2011, The Voice Vibrate the vocal cords as much as powerful song lovers, in search of new talents. It has been nine weeks already that, the coaches Florent Pagny, Zazie, Patricia Kaas and Vianney constituted their teams during the blind auditions, where only the voice counts. Then comes the “Battles” sequence to decide between the best in each team.
But this year, fans of The Voice will have to wait. This Saturday, April 5, a new intermediate stage will start in the competition: it was baptized “the groups”. The principle? The coaches will form groups of 3 to 4 talents that will compete on stage in spectacular musical paintings. The objective for TF1 is to spice up the show with a new epic show and another form of confrontation, with unique vocal performance.
A challenge for talents, coaches and … fans
For the talents of The Voiceit is a question of showing that they can both shine as a team and individually. The goal of the “groups” is also to restore power and responsibilities to the coaches, in charge of titles, the team composition and the staging. The latter have “carte blanche to create musical paintings”, with “promises of surprises and scenographies never seen before”, tells us TF1 (we are talking about brazier on stage, poignant medleys, a tribute to Johnny Hallyday …).
This is enough to add stress to the four jurors, who will be able to save at least one talent at the end of each performance, but can only keep 6 protected each for the rest. The Voice So will face Cornelian choices (“heartbreaking” said TF1 in its press release) in the coming weeks. Florent Pagny has already admitted that “the groups” will be “even more complicated than the battles”.
We will have to wait for the battles
No less than 18 groups, or nearly 70 candidates, will parade during these ambitious shows. Suffice to say that if the concept does not appeal, it may be long … fans, probably worried this evening not to find the “battles” which make the success of The Voice For years, can still be reassured. After this unprecedented musical parenthesis, the “Cross-Battles” will return on Saturday, April 19.
If the principle of the battles remains the same (two candidates from the same team compete to go to the semi-finals), a novelty was added in 2025: “Goodbye talent flights! Unlike the previous seasons, no talent can be drafted by another coach. The competition will be only intense and strategic”, indicates the front page. And the chain specifies: all the talents, without exception, will assist the other battles from the stands, installed on the set. After discovering their order of passage as you go, they will go down directly to join the scene. Guaranteed suspense and emotion.
