The Voice: they have a smile, but the 2025 season already promises to be very complicated!

The Voice they have a smile but the 2025 season

The Voice is making its comeback in early 2025 on TF1. But the 14th season could be one of the most difficult since the program’s debut.

After a year 2024 marked by Alphonse’s victory last May, The Voice is back on TF1 at the start of 2025. Although the exact launch date has not yet been revealed, the first channel has already lifted the veil on the major new features that await viewers. And The Voice almost promises a revolution, which could mark a turning point in telecrochet.

On the red armchair side, Florent Pagny will make his highly anticipated return after his retirement to fight cancer for the last two years. He will be surrounded by Vianney, who is back, as well as two new additions: Patricia Kaas and Zaz. The latter will set foot on a brand new stage, designed as a real arena in order to highlight the performances of the candidates.

The producers and coaches were smiling during the conference presenting the new season by TF1 at the end of November, but this 14th season of The Voice could be particularly trying. In addition to questions about Florent Pagny’s health and the first tensions reported in the celebrity press between Patricia Kaas and Zaz, the creation of a new test, called “the groups”, is already causing people to shudder.

First major change: this event will replace the “battles”, an essential step until now in The Voice. It will take place just after the traditional blind auditions and will be reserved for the 16 candidates selected by each coach. Divided into groups of three or four under the aegis of their coach, the talents will have to join forces in a new way.

“We give coaches carte blanche to create unique paintings each time, with a particular staging. Some choose unique instruments, for example,” explained Pascal Guix, the artistic producer of The Voicee, during the press conference. A wonderful creative freedom that promises colorful services.

Preparing for the event, on the other hand, will put an unprecedented level of pressure on the participants, but also on the coaches, taking on the role of directors. At the end of each group’s passage, they will also be subject to a difficult dilemma. They will in fact only be able to keep one or two talents out of the three or four presented. “It’s a tough stage,” admits Pascal Guix, who promises great moments of emotion. At the end of these “groups”, there will only be six candidates left per team.

The lucky ones will then have access to new format “battles” (the stage will be renamed), which will be played for the duration of a single broadcast. Finally, the turn of the live broadcasts will come, with a semi-final and a final which will finally allow the public to vote for their favorite talents. Another major change, the public vote taking place much later than in previous years.
