The Voice returns very soon to TF1 for a 14th season, with the big return of Florent Pagny in the coaching chair…
The Voice will make its comeback on TF1 for a new season which promises to be full of new features. Exit the famous red armchairs? A completely new setting is in any case announced to mark this renewal, with in particular the arrival of the “second chance” rule, which will allow certain talents failed during blind auditions to have a second opportunity to convince . A new mystery event is also in the works in place of the “cross battles” which have not been kept.
But the main attraction of this year remains the highly anticipated comeback of Florent Pagny. Forced to leave the show in 2022 to treat his lung cancer, the singer decided to resume his place as coach for good, alongside the faithful Vianney and two newcomers: Zaz and Patricia Kaas. A daring bet for the production, while the singer admitted to not having been able to completely get rid of the disease and to having abandoned certain treatments.
“I was able to finish a season [de “The Voice”] despite the chemo. I ended up doing festivals, in the middle I had a relapse, I was treated, I was able to do a TV show, record an album because it’s not work , it’s a destiny, it’s a life, as long as we have the energy and the strength, we do it”, the 62-year-old artist notably indicated on Franceinfo last week. And to reassure: ” I’m doing well […]. I think we can juggle all that if fate does things right.”
For its part, the production of The Voice ensures that it has not “asked the question once” about Pagny’s ability to perform the show, as Pascal Guix, artistic producer, told Purecharts. “We didn’t ask ourselves the question once […]. In truth, what we said to ourselves is that we’re moving forward, we’re not thinking about it,” he explains, convinced that Florent “embodies something, he’s stuck with this show since the beginning. It’s him, it’s The Voice.”
An enthusiasm shared by the singer’s daughter, Aël Pagny, who spoke on TF1 this week also assuring that “dad represents something for people”. The young photographer, who is releasing a book of photos on her father, including his period of treatment, assures: “He is doing very well. Fortunately, not so long ago, he had an examination and everything is fine We’re waiting for the next one in three months, but for now, we’re happy.”
“At home, he sings all the time. […] Not to impress us, just to prove that he still has his voice. My mother [l’ancien mannequin argentin Azucena Caamaño – NDLR] tells him to stop: ‘My ears, save that for the scene.’ It makes me laugh,” laughs the artist. Currently in the middle of filming the blind auditions, the interpreter of Savoir Aimer appears in any case “very fit and smiling” according to the team.
