The VVD was thus divided. Some liberals consider the arrival ‘a good opportunity to put Vianen positively on the map’, but others are afraid of budget overruns. The CDA also had doubts for this reason and the same fear exists among the SGP. There are objections to the festival for religious reasons, but also concerns that the money could better go to local institutions in the municipality.
