Armand Duplantis has made history by setting a new world record.
It was written. Armand, “Mundo” Duplantis, was crowned Olympic champion this Monday, August 5 in a Stade de France full and boiling like every day and evening since the beginning of these Olympic Games. If the question of his title did not arise, that of an attempt at a world record yes. The stadium and the whole world were waiting for this record.

After having cleared a first bar at 6.10m to beat the Olympic record, the Swede asked for a bar at 6.25m, one centimeter more than his record. After two attempts “failed” by a hair’s breadth because Armand Duplantis was well above and crashed into the bar, he moved the posts back and the rest is history.
