According to Bloomberg, the SUICIDE SQUAD game is going to be pushed back to the year 2023. We don’t know if development will get complicated, but Rocksteady hasn’t released any games since 2015. And then, as I say again, they were on a Superman game before we imposed this Suicide Squad on them… pic.twitter.com/ObYPPhy66T

Indeed, after the artistic and commercial flop of the film Suicide Squad in 2016, Warner had the objective of relaunching the franchise by putting the means, both artistic and commercial. For the theatrical reboot, Warner went for the talented James Gunn who was about to get licensed by Disney following controversial old tweets that had been unearthed (and he was subsequently picked up), while side video games, Rocksteady was on a mission to bring the Suicide Squad up to date. It is for this reason that the character of Superman appears in this Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, because Rocksteady didn’t have the strength to trash everything. It remains to be seen how this will all fit together for the final result. In the meantime, Bloomberg has contacted Warner for its opinion on the postponement, but no comment has been given.
