Leksand extended the winning streak beat AIK

Christmas is filled with exciting rustling, glittering Christmas balls and seductive scents. But according to veterinarian Sandra Douglas, these very lures can be very dangerous and there are many things you should keep away from your dog or cat.

– What we think is so wonderful about Christmas is what almost constitutes the biggest threat to our four-legged friends, she says.

Animals can injure themselves in several different ways during Christmas, but there are a few things that stand out among the dangers.

– What you should be extra careful about during Christmas are chocolate, raisins, nuts, Christmas glitter, gift strings that the animals want to chew on. Beautiful Christmas plants such as hyacinths, amaryllis, poinsettias. Then you have to be very careful with candles, says Sandra Douglas.

Unfortunate incidents can be avoided if you think extra and keep an eye on your pets.

– My advice is that you should not trust your animals. Do not leave them access to the Christmas table, for example. If there is food in front of you, the dog or cat can stay in another room, concludes Douglas.
