Faced with falling temperatures in a large part of the northern hemisphere, there are many tips for warming up on social networks. One trend stood out: the “Vanilla Girl” aesthetic. What is it about ? What does this consist of ? Explanations.
Draw the contours of a dressing room likely to combine elegance and comfort, in perfect harmony with the season. This is possible with the “Vanilla Girl” aesthetic. This new trend will meet the expectations of fans of fashion but also of cocooning.
Face the harshness of winter in style
Ever more numerous, the trends taking their source on TikTok bring out micro-inspirations that satisfy a large number of people. After the “normcore”, the “Plazacore” or the “Barbiecore”, make way for the “Vanilla Girl”. This is the latest aesthetic that is being talked about on social networks and in particular TikTok. Between elegance and cocooning, it translates into a perfect wardrobe to face the rigors of winter in style.
Creamy white: the flagship color of this trend
Admittedly, the “Vanilla Girl” aesthetic is already a crowd of followers on TikTok with no less than 200 million views for the hashtag dedicated. According to data shared by the fashion retailer For me, Google searches for the term ‘Vanilla Girl’ have increased by 78% in the last few months, all over the world. At stake ? A sleek, even minimalist dressing room in which two colors predominate: white and cream. Neutral shades in this case, which are obviously inspired by vanilla, hence the name.
From coats to twisted sweaters and turtlenecks, the whole winter panoply is available here, available exclusively in these two shades. But contrary to popular belief, the cocooning spirit does not only translate into warm rooms. The proof, the tank tops are also out, whether they are exhibited in cotton or twisted wool, while the pajamas are essential not in a pilou-pilou version but in silk, please!
Warm and cocooning raw materials
Still, the ‘Vanilla Girl’ focuses on comforting materials such as wool, fleece or even shearling. Also according to the fashion retailer, cream-coloured boots have emerged as the most popular fashion item since the emergence of this trend. Google searches are up more than 500% in the past three months, ahead of cream fleeces (+400%), sheepskin boots (+235%), cream coats (+235%) , and cream-colored silk pajamas (+230%).
Moreover, the trend is not limited to the borders of fashion. It is also making some inroads into the cosmetics sector. One thing that translates to vanilla hair dye, in the vein of “Vanilla almond butter” which was already buzzing last spring, as well as by beauty treatments inspired by the cold, like the make-up “I’m Cold” which has also generated tens of millions of views on the Chinese social network.
