Grid operator TenneT is investigating six locations for a possible new high-voltage substation in the province. Two of these were designated by local residents themselves, reports the network operator. Partly due to the energy transition, the Utrecht power grid is locked, so capacity must be increased. The main bottleneck is the Breukelen-Kortrijk high-voltage substation. .
