Data security has become more and more important day by day. The emergence of various types of tracking software showed that greater measures should be taken in this regard. Countries have already started to take their own measures. The phone warning made by the USA to the athletes who will go to China as part of the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics is a proof of this.
“LEFT YOUR PERSONAL PHONES, USE A DISPOSABLE PHONE”
According to the news of The Verge; The United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee (USOPC) has told athletes to put down their personal phones and use a “Burner phone” ahead of the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics to be held in China next month. A burner phone simply means disposable, disposable phones.
The committee bulletin states that “Every device, communication, transaction and online activities can be monitored. Your device or devices may be exposed to malware, which may adversely affect future use.”
OTHER COUNTRIES ALSO WARNED
In the news, it was stated that England, Canada and the Netherlands warned athletes not to bring their personal electronic devices to the country.
On the other hand, the report stated that the fear of the committee was not unfounded, and that in 2019, China was caught secretly installing spyware on tourists’ phones.
