The United States promises 100 million dollars, just over 1.1 billion kroner, to the proposed Kenya-led multinational force for violence and crisis-stricken Haiti.

Foreign Minister Antony Blinken said on Friday that the US would contribute logistics, communications and medical support to the effort, which is still awaiting UN approval.

Kenya has offered to lead the effort, while Jamaica, the Bahamas, Antigua and Barbuda want to send personnel.
