The US follows several other countries and plans to deliver emergency aid to Gaza from the air shortly.
– The aid coming into Gaza now is nowhere near sufficient. We have to do more, the United States has to do more, President Joe Biden told reporters at the White House.
Earlier this week, Jordan, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and France dropped emergency aid along the Gaza Strip, while aid shipments by land to the war-torn area were halted or severely delayed.
During Thursday, Canada also announced that it has similar plans.
– In the next few days, we will unite with our friends in Jordan and other countries and will try to find other ways into (Gaza), including a possible corridor via the sea, says Biden.
