The US is talking about this Turk He smuggled out

Engineer Gökhan Gün, of Turkish origin, was detained by Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) teams while on his way to Mexico with “top secret” documents belonging to the US Air Force. It was claimed that Gün was going to flee to Mexico with the documents.

According to the news on Ekol TV, Gün is accused of illegally obtaining and hiding secret documents regarding the country’s defense, but he denied all the accusations against him and said he only intended to go to Mexico to fish.

HE WAS GOING TO ESCAPE TO MEXICO

Gün, who started working at the US Department of Defense in September 2023, worked in an office in Virginia. Gün, who has had access to top-secret documents that are classified as secret but are prohibited from being taken out of the office since May, illegally removed 406 pages of documents, 82 of which are top secret, from the office in the last week.

According to reports in the US press, more than 150 secret documents were found in Gün’s backpack, which was caught at the airport while fleeing to Mexico.

According to the Washington Post, published in the US, Defense Ministry officials announced that Gün had access to classified documents as an employee, but he was not authorized to take these documents home. Gün claimed in his defense that the documents were declassified a long time ago, while security units emphasized that the documents were still classified and that detailed examinations were ongoing.
