The US has submitted a resolution to the UN Security Council for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, says Foreign Minister Anthony Blinken in an interview.
– We have a resolution that we have now presented to the UN Security Council which demands an immediate ceasefire linked to the release of the hostages, says Blinken in the interview with Saudi Al-Hadath.
Blinken says it is hoped that several countries will support the resolution.
At the end of February the US used its veto in the Security Council to block an immediate humanitarian ceasefire. Instead, the US wanted to see a temporary ceasefire, linked to the demand for the release of the hostages.
