Sweden has been informed by the USA about the Chinese hot air balloon that was shot down by the USA.

“Sweden, together with other countries, has been informed about the issue by the US Department of Foreign Affairs in Washington,” writes the Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs in an email to TT.

“We cannot comment on whether this has led to any special measures from the Swedish side,” continues the ministry.

Denmark’s foreign minister announced earlier that the country had also been informed about the balloon.

– The USA has had a dialogue with Denmark, and we are informed. But I cannot say anything more about the content, says Danish Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen (M), according to the Ritzau news agency.

Earlier this week, the Reuters news agency reported that the United States had informed 40 countries about the Chinese spy balloon that was shot down last Saturday.

The balloon traveled in US airspace for several days before being shot down by US warplanes off the coast.

According to the US, it was a Chinese surveillance balloon with the purpose of gathering information.

On Friday, the US military shot down another object, in Alaska, and on Saturday night, another object was shot down in the air above North America, on the orders of US President Joe Biden and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
