The US Embassy in Russia warns of a terrorist attack in Moscow

The US Embassy in Russia is warning its citizens that a terrorist attack may take place in Moscow.
“The embassy is following information that extremists have imminent plans to attack large gatherings of people,” it said in a statement.

Within the next 24 hours, a terrorist attack could take place in Moscow. It warns both the American and British embassies about, reports The Telegraph.

Citizens are asked to avoid large crowds for the next 48 hours and to be vigilant about their surroundings.

“The embassy is following information that extremists have imminent plans to attack large gatherings of people,” says a statement published by the US State Department on X.

Can strike against concerts

According to US intelligence, the extremists may attack, among other things, concerts in the Russian capital. They also warn against traveling to the country.

The Russian security service, the FSB, said on Thursday that they had managed to prevent a potential IS attack against a synagogue in Moscow. It has not yet been determined whether it has anything to do with the US terror alert.
